About Us
Hello dog lovers,
I'm Christina, the founder of Pointer & Hound, a locally owned business based in Christchurch, New Zealand. I live here with my partner Rowan and our two dogs, Toby the German Shorthaired Pointer and Maple the Miniature Dachshund (an interesting combo, I know! But they absolutely adore each other).
My journey to starting this brand stemmed from a simple, personal challenge. While there's no shortage of colourful, vibrant and bold dog products out there (which are wonderful in their own right), I often found myself looking for designs in more neutral hues and subtle patterns. It's just a matter of personal taste, really. Recognising this gap, I felt inspired to design and introduce my own curated range.

The Dogs
Meet Toby (the Pointer)
Toby is mine and Rowan's first fur baby. He is a big boy, keen hunter but also a total softy. He prefers toys over treats, so that makes him our chief toy tester here at Pointer & Hound. He puts toys to the ultimate test to make sure they are worthy for you!
He loves hugs, snores loud and is super needy (its definitely a GSP thing). Toby is definitely a 'Dads boy' - he loves going to work with Rowan because he gets to run around in the outdoors all day - what a life!
Toby will be proudly modelling our products, so you'll see lots of him looking handsome across our website and social media. He wears a size L in most of our products.

Meet Maple (the Hound)
Introducing miss Maple, my soul dog and little shadow.
Maple is your typical dachshund - stubborn, needy, barks (a lot), loves food...and so irresistibly cute. She may be small in size but makes up for it with her large personality. She loves people and playing with her fur friends.
She's always by my side, knows lots of tricks (will do anything for food) and loves to howl at sirens.
You'll see lots more of Maple modelling our products as she brings the 'cute' factor to our brand. She wears the smallest sizes in all our products.

Doing our bit
SPCA Supporter
We are proud supporters of the SPCA and are dedicated to helping dogs find their forever homes. Our special partnership with the SPCA in Canterbury allows us to make a difference each month by visiting and photographing a dog in need of a family. We kit the dog out in POINTER & HOUND products, which they get to take with them to their new home once adopted.
To raise awareness, we share the photos we take with our growing social media community, which currently has 5000+ followers. Our goal is to get the word out so that the dog receives great applications and finds their forever humans.
Additionally, we donate products to the SPCA when possible. As our business continues to grow, we aim to do even more to support our furry friends who cannot speak for themselves.
So far we have donated $1295 worth of our products to the Christchurch SPCA.
